Blu has recently become one of my new favorite street artist today. he is an italian artist using the name blu as a pseudonym to conceal his real identity. i learned about the artist after seeing a stop motion video where his murals literally come to life in animation that was made entirely our of wall drawings. Blu's work is embodied in street art, stop motion animation of his street art, and drawings. his drawings have a very unique style and are often grotesque images that present conceptual ideas.

Paco Pomet is a Grenada based artist whose work includes paintings based on archival photographs. His paintings are very photorealistic while the images in his work include silly, surreal and absurd elements, such as skewed, stretches and shrunk features, and goofy pop images, that comment on the distorting nature of memory.

all of my favorite artists no longer have their artist's statements online to aid me with how to construct my own. would be nice to see what people write about their own art, especially ones that remind me of my own work... as Banksy's once said. "i prayed for a bike and never got one, so i decided to steal one and pray for forgiveness instead". so i looked to this poem to make reference to my own work.
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but
shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but
have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller
families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less
sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems,
more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little,
drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too
little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
