Took a little while to upload, so this one is a bit late. but oh well. These photos are too peaceful, for me to be bothered. kind of the reason I was out for a walk and taking these photos in the first place... to get away.
I miss the days of simple illustration. where simple lines and color meant more than they appeared to be. We didn't have to be shown everything to know what is happening. In film today we see everything, which tells us more about how desensitized we are to images of death and gore. But the subtle bits of information that makes us know what is going on is so much more interesting, and employs more art and skill. The simplest form of this i noticed in an old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon. I call this sequence Crash
The original idea for this photo is a bit more crazy than the finished product, and was meant to be a toy's revenge on its destructive owner, but in the spirit of thanksgiving I decided to make it a bit more light hearted. Happy Thanks Giving
Spending time with my nephew I remembered the fun of being a kid, and bringing your toys to life. Believing that they are alive, they can do anything. They speak to you, and they listen. You create their world and their identity, and you tell a story that through your imagination.
Every now and then I find myself having trouble sleeping; waking up at random times of the night, and sometimes never falling asleep at all. But one great morning at 5am in Rochester, I felt like my insomnia had a purpose, to show me the beautiful image of Rochester just before sunrise.
New York city, one of the most fast paced places I have ever experienced in my life. This photo was taken in the Summer of 2010, where for the first time in a long time, I got a chance to slow down and watch life unfold. Instead of being in a constant rush I got to stop and see life.
